Abstract

In the second year of the COVID-19 pandemic, human development in the Province of Bali showed a direction of improvement. This can be seen from the growth of the Human Development Index (HDI), which has increased compared to the previous year. Bali's HDI in 2021 is 75.69 or growing 0.25 percent (an increase of 0.19 points) compared to the previous year's achievement.

Despite experiencing a general acceleration of growth, one of the components that make up the HDI, namely the adjusted average real expenditure per capita, recorded a decline in 2021. This indicator fell from 13.93 million rupiah in 2020 to 13.82 million rupiah in 2021. .

In terms of education, in 2021 children aged 7 years and over have the hope of enjoying 13.40 years of education, or almost the equivalent of the time required to complete Diploma I or second semester education at the university level. This figure increased by 0.07 years compared to the previous year which reached 13.33 years. The average length of schooling for residents aged 25 years and over also increased by 0.11 years, from 8.95 years in 2020 to 9.06 years in 2021.

In terms of health, babies born in 2021 have an expectation of being able to live up to 72.24 years, 0.11 years longer than babies born in the previous year.
