Abstract

The increase in Bali's HDI in 2023 will occur in all dimensions, including long and healthy lives, knowledge, and decent living standards. The dimension of decent living standards experienced the greatest increase.

In the dimension of longevity and healthy living, babies born in 2023 have the hope of living up to 74.88 years, an increase of 0.28 years compared to those born in 2022. The data source for life expectancy at birth uses Long Form results SP2020 (LF SP2020).

In the knowledge dimension, the expected length of schooling (HLS) for the population aged 7 years and over in 2023 is 13.58 years, an increase of 0.10 years compared to 2022. Meanwhile, the average length of schooling (RLS) for the population aged 25 years and over is 9.45 years, an increase of 0.06 years compared to 2022. The HLS and RLS data sources use the results of the March National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas).

The dimension of decent living standards as measured by the average real expenditure per capita per year (adjusted) increased by 440 thousand rupiah compared to 2022. The data source for real expenditure per capita uses the results of the March Susenas.

In 2023, all districts/cities in Bali will have achieved "high" development status (70 ≤ HDI < 80) or "very high" (HDI ≥ 80).
