Human development in Bali has consistently progressed, but the pace in 2020 is slowing down. This progress is marked by the increase in the Human Development Index (HDI) in 2020 which recorded an achievement of 75.50 or an increase of 0.12 points compared to 2019 which was recorded at 75.38.
The slowdown in human development is indicated by the growth in HDI which amounted to 0.16 percent, lower than the growth in 2019 which was recorded at 0.82 percent.
The slowdown in 2020 is indicated by a decline in people's ability to meet their daily needs due to COVID-19, which is illustrated by the component of average adjusted per capita expenditure (PPP) which was recorded at 13.93 million rupiah, down 217 thousand rupiah from the previous year.
Babies born in 2020 are recorded to have a hope of living up to 72.13 years, 0.14 years longer than the previous year.
In 2020, children who are 7 years old have the hope of being able to enjoy education for 13.33 years, 0.06 years longer than in 2019.
In addition, the population aged 25 years and over has on average recorded an education of 8.95 years, 0.11 years longer than the previous year.
