Bali Population Inequality Expenditures, September 2022

Abstract

In September 2022, the Balinese population's expenditure inequality level, as measured using the Gini Ratio, was recorded at 0.362. This figure decreased by 0.001 points when compared to conditions in March 2022 which were recorded at 0.363 and decreased by 0.013 points compared to conditions in September 2021 which were recorded at 0.375.

Bali's Gini Ratio in urban areas in September 2022 was recorded at 0.371. This achievement is relatively the same as conditions in March 2022 which were recorded at 0.371 and decreased by 0.008 points when compared to conditions in September 2021 which were recorded at 0.379.

Bali's Gini Ratio in rural areas in September 2022 was recorded at 0.282. This achievement decreased by 0.012 points when compared to conditions in March 2022 which were recorded at 0.294 and decreased by 0.020 points when compared to conditions in September 2021 which were recorded at 0.302.

Based on the World Bank's inequality measure, Bali's spending distribution in September 2022 for the bottom 40 percent group was recorded at 18.81 percent. This means that the expenditure of the Balinese population in September 2022 is in the low level of inequality category. If broken down by region, in urban areas it was recorded at 18.38 percent, which means it belongs to the low inequality category. Likewise for rural areas, the figure was recorded at 22.06 percent, which also means that it belongs to the low inequality category.
