The labor force in August 2024 was recorded at 2.71 million people, an increase of 23.86 thousand people compared to August 2023. In the same period, TPAK increased by 0.03 percentage points to 77.11%.
In August 2024, the number of working residents was 2.67 million people, an increase of 47.60 thousand people compared to conditions in August 2023. The employment sector that experienced the biggest increase was construction, which increased by 25.78 thousand people. Meanwhile, the sector with the largest decline was Wholesale and Retail Trade which decreased by 21.57 thousand people.
A total of 1.31 million people (49.32%) worked in formal activities, an increase of 1.67 percentage points compared to August 2023.
Workers in Bali in August 2024 will still be dominated by workers with elementary school education or below with a percentage of 31.22% (832.13 thousand people).
Compared with August 2023, the percentage of underemployed decreased by 0.22 percentage points to 2.35%, while the percentage of part-time workers was 23.17% (down 0.37 percentage points).
The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) for Bali Province in August 2024 was 1.79%, down 0.90 percentage points compared to August 2023. The highest TPT was recorded in Denpasar City at 2.11%.
