Development of Bali Province Consumer Price Index March 2024

Abstract

In March 2024, year on year (y-on-y), Bali Province experienced inflation of 3.67 percent with a Consumer Price Index (base year 2022=100) of 106.94. The highest inflation was recorded in Tabanan Regency at 3.95 percent with a CPI of 109.21 and the lowest inflation was recorded in Denpasar City at 3.43 percent with a CPI of 106.85.

Annual inflation (y-on-y) occurred due to the increase in prices of observed commodities as indicated by the increase in the CPI in nine expenditure groups, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group rose as high as 8.77 percent; clothing and footwear group as high as 1.74 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group as high as 0.14 percent; health group as high as 1.99 percent; transportation group as high as 0.91 percent; recreation, sports and culture groups as high as 2.46 percent; education group as high as 3.24 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group as high as 2.63 percent; and the personal care and other services group as high as 2.85 percent. Meanwhile, two groups recorded a decline in the index, namely the equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group, which fell by 0.06 percent; and the information, communication and financial services group at 0.02 percent.

On a monthly basis (month to month / m-t-m), Bali Province recorded inflation of 0.93 percent. Meanwhile, year to date (y-t-d), inflation was recorded at 1.46 percent.
