Development of Bali Province Consumer Price Index February 2024

In February 2024, year on year (y-on-y), Bali Province experienced inflation of 2.98 percent with a Consumer Price Index (base year 2022=100) of 105.95. The highest inflation was recorded in Tabanan Regency at 3.87 percent with a CPI of 108.23 and the lowest inflation was recorded in Denpasar City at 2.72 percent with a CPI of 105.93.

Annual inflation (y-on-y) occurred due to the increase in prices of observed commodities as indicated by the increase in the CPI in nine expenditure groups, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group rose as high as 7.23 percent; clothing and footwear group as high as 1.77 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel groups as high as 0.17 percent; health group as high as 1.94 percent; transportation group as high as 0.63 percent; recreation, sports and culture groups as high as 2.44 percent; education group as high as 3.16 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group as high as 1.75 percent; and the personal care and other services group as high as 1.93 percent. Meanwhile, two groups recorded a decline in the index, namely the equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group, which fell by 0.26 percent; and the information, communication and financial services group at 0.03 percent.

On a monthly basis (month to month / m-t-m), Bali Province recorded inflation of 0.61 percent. Meanwhile, year to date (y-t-d), inflation was recorded at 0.52 percent.
