In October 2022, Singaraja City experienced deflation as deep as 0.16 percent with a Consumer Price Index (base year 2018=100) of 113.02. The inflation rate for the calendar year October 2022 is as high as 3.94 percent. Meanwhile, the year-on-year inflation rate (October 2022 against October 2021 or YoY) was recorded as high as 5.83 percent
Two expenditure groups experienced deflation (m to m), namely group I (food, beverages, and tobacco) by 1.42 percent, and group VII (information, communication, and financial services) by 0.04 percent. Seven groups experienced inflation, namely group IV (equipment, equipment, and routine household maintenance) as high as 2.45 percent; group VI (transportation) as high as 1.04 percent; group VIII (recreation, sports, and culture) as high as 0.82 percent; group X (providing food and beverages/restaurants) as high as 0.54 percent; group XI (personal care and other services) as high as 0.15 percent; group III (housing, water, electricity, and household fuel) as high as 0.03 percent; and group II (clothing and footwear) as high as 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, two other expenditure groups recorded no change in index or were stagnant, namely group V (health); and group IX (education).
Of the 90 cities observed for national inflation, 61 cities experienced deflation and 29 cities experienced inflation. The deepest deflation was recorded in Gunungsitoli City (North Sumatra) as deep as 1.48 percent, while the highest inflation was recorded in Manokwari City (West Papua) as high as 0.76 percent. If sorted from deepest deflation, Singaraja ranks 38th out of 61 cities experiencing deflation.
