In December 2021 Denpasar City was recorded to experience inflation as high as 0.75 percent as indicated by an increase in the Consumer Price Index (base year 2018=100) from 105.53 (2018=100) in November 2021 to 106.32 in December 2021. Meanwhile , the calendar year inflation rate (year to date/ytd) is the same as the year to year inflation rate (December 2021 to December 2020 or YoY) recorded as high as 2.01 percent respectively.
Of the eleven expenditure groups, six expenditure groups experienced inflation, namely: group I (food, beverages, and tobacco) as high as 2.17 percent; group IV (equipment, equipment, and routine household maintenance) as high as 1.99 percent; group VI (transportation) as high as 0.85 percent; group X (providing food and beverages/restaurants) as high as 0.24 percent; group V (health) as high as 0.13 percent; and group III (housing, water, electricity, and household fuel) as high as 0.09 percent. Meanwhile, four other expenditure groups recorded deflation, namely: group II (clothing and footwear) as deep as 0.92 percent; group VIII (recreation, sports, and culture) as deep as 0.48 percent; group XI (personal care and other services) as deep as 0.07 percent; and group VII (information, communication, and financial services) as deep as 0.02 percent. One other group recorded no change in index or stagnant, namely group IX (education).
Of the 90 CPI cities, 88 cities experienced inflation and 2 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Jayapura City (Papua) as high as 1.91 percent, while the lowest inflation was recorded in Pekanbaru City (Riau) as high as 0.07 percent. If sorted from the highest inflation rate, Denpasar City ranks 36th out of 88 cities experiencing inflation.
