Abstract
In August 2017 Kota Singaraja experienced inflation of 0.49 percent, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 137.26. The inflation rate for calendar year (January - August) 2017 is 1.60
percent, and the year-on-year inflation rate (August 2017 to August
2016) is 2.79 percent.
Inflation was marked by an increase in indexes that occurred in the education, recreation and sports category of 4.44 percent; clothing group 0.66 percent; foodstuffs group 0.52 percent; health group 0.46 percent; finished food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group 0.20 percent; 0.05 percent of transportation, communication, and financial services
groups and housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel groups by 0.02
percent.
Commodities
that experienced price increases during August 2017 include: chicken
meat, high school education costs, primary school education fees, eggs,
apples, bean sprouts, tuition fees, salt, sate, wet shrimp, spinach, motorcycle, cassava, shoes, toothpaste, anchovies and refreshments. Reduced
commodities include red chili, red onion, beans, cucumbers, oranges,
red peppers, city transport, instant noodles, salak, garlic, cooking
oil, carrots and squid.
