Abstract

  • The number of poor people (the population with per capita per month is below poverty line) in March 2016 in Bali reached 178.18 thousand (4.25 percent), a decrease of 40.6 thousand persons compared to the poor people in September 2015, amounting to 218.79 thousand people (5.25 percent).
  • During the period September 2015 - March 2016, the number of poor people in urban areas decreased by 18.8 thousand people (from 115.80 thousand in September 2015 to 96.98 thousand in March 2016). Similarly, poor people in rural areas decreased by 21.8
  • thousand people (from 102.99 thousand in September 2015 to 81.20 thousand in March 2016).
  • During the period September 2015 - March 2016, the percentage of poor people in urban and rural areas has decreased. The percentage of poor people in urban areas in September 2015 amounted to 4.52 percent, fell to 3.68 percent in March 2016. Meanwhile, the percentage of poor people in rural areas from 6.42 percent in September 2015 to 5.23 percent in March 2016.
  • Food commodities much greater role on the formation of the Poverty Line dibandingkandengan non-food commodities. Donations to the Food Poverty Line Poverty Line in March 2016 stood at 69.15 per cent, which is a slight increase from September 2015yang amounted to 68.88 percent. Donations of non food poverty line on the poverty line in March 2016 amounted to 30.85 percent, down from September 2015 conditions which are at 31.12 percent.
  • Food commodities that will greatly affect the value of the poverty line in urban areas include rice, cigarette filters, chicken, eggs, onion, coffee powder, wet cake, instant noodles, bananas and bread. Meanwhile, in rural areas which are rice, filter cigarettes, eggs, onions, bananas, coffee powder, cake, bread, and cayenne pepper. Commodities not the food that will greatly affect the value of the poverty line in urban areas, among others, housing, gasoline, religious ceremonies or other traditional, electricity, and education, while in rural areas include housing, gasoline, religious ceremonies and other traditional, wood, and electricity.
