Abstract

In April 2016 in Denpasar deflation of 0.20 percent in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) amounted to 120.08. The cumulative inflation rate (from January to April, 2016) of 0.42 percent and inflation year-on-year (April 2016 to April 2015) amounted to 2.80 percent.
Deflation occurs due to a decrease in the price indicated by the decline in the index in two types of expenses, transport, communications, and financial services as well as housing, water, electricity, gas, and fuel deflation respectively by -1.83 percent and -0.35 percent.
Meanwhile five other expenditure groups that resist deflation is the clothing group by 0.86 percent; food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.84 per cent; health group by 0,43 percent; foodstuffs 0.10 percent; as well as education, recreation and sport 0.01 percent.
