In November 2023, the combined CPI for Denpasar City and Singaraja City recorded inflation as high as 0.41 percent as indicated by an increase in the Consumer Price Index (base year 2018=100) from 115.36 in October 2023 to 115.83 in November 2023. Meanwhile Therefore, the inflation rate for the calendar year (year to date/ytd) November 2023 is 2.28 percent. The year-on-year inflation rate (November 2023 to November 2022 or YoY) was recorded as high as 2.77 percent.
Inflation occurred due to an increase in the prices of public consumption goods/services as indicated by the increase in the CPI in six expenditure groups, namely: group I (food, beverages and tobacco) as high as 1.60 percent; group XI (personal care and other services) as high as 0.44 percent; group X (food and beverage/restaurant provision) as high as 0.15 percent; group VIII (recreation, sports and culture) as high as 0.08 percent; group III (housing, water, electricity and household fuel) as high as 0.03 percent; and group VII (information, communication and financial services) as high as 0.03 percent.
On the other hand, four groups recorded deflation, namely group VI (transportation) at 0.32 percent; group IV (equipment, equipment and routine household maintenance) at 0.24 percent; group V (health) as deep as 0.23 percent; and group II (clothing and footwear) as deep as 0.12 percent.
On a year-on-year (yoy) basis, Denpasar City recorded inflation of 2.51 percent, while Singaraja City recorded inflation of 4.47 percent. Nationally, the highest yoy inflation was recorded in Tanjung Pandan City (Bangka Belitung) at 5.89 percent. On the other hand, the lowest inflation was recorded in Jayapura City (Papua) at 1.82 percent. If ranked by highest yoy inflation, Denpasar City is listed in 77th place, while Singaraja City is listed in 5th place.
