Development of Singaraja City Consumer Price Index June 2022

Abstract

In June 2022, Singaraja City was recorded as experiencing inflation as high as 2.20 percent with a Consumer Price Index (base year 2018=100) of 113.96. The inflation rate for the calendar year June 2022 is as high as 4.80 percent. Meanwhile, the year-on-year inflation rate (June 2022 versus June 2021 or YoY) was recorded as high as 6.45 percent

Six expenditure groups recorded inflation (m to m), namely group IV (equipment, equipment, and routine household maintenance) as high as 5.59 percent; group I (food, beverages, and tobacco) as high as 4.70 percent; group X (providing food and beverages/restaurants) as high as 1.67 percent; group XI (personal care and other services) as high as 0.49 percent; group III (housing, water, electricity, and household fuel) as high as 0.09 percent; and group II (clothing and footwear) as high as 0.05 percent. One group experienced deflation, namely group VI (transportation) as deep as 0.19 percent. Meanwhile, the other four expenditure groups recorded no change in index or were stagnant, namely; group V (health); group VII (information, communication, and financial services); group VIII (recreation, sports, and culture); and group IX (education).

Commodities that contributed to inflation in June 2022 include cayenne pepper, canang sari, red chilies, shallots, ready-to-eat meatballs, filtered kretek cigarettes, chicken eggs, bananas, tomatoes, eggplant and white cabbage/cabbage.

Of the 90 CPI cities, 85 cities experienced inflation and 5 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation was recorded in Gunungsitoli City while the deepest deflation was recorded in Kendari City. If sorted from the highest inflation rate, then Singaraja ranks 2nd out of 85 cities experiencing inflation.
