The number of workforce in August 2021 was recorded at 2.58 million people, an increase of 12.60 thousand people compared to August 2020. However, in the same period, LFPR decreased by 0.78 percentage points to 73.54% in August 2021.
The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in August 2021 was 5.37%, a decrease of 0.25 percentage point compared to August 2020. However, the TPT was still quite high when compared to Bali's TPT before the Covid-19 pandemic in February 2020 which was recorded at 1.25%.
In August 2021, the number of working people was 2.44 million people, an increase of 18.44 thousand people compared to the conditions in August 2020. Employment fields that experienced the largest percentage increase were the Government Administration, Defense and Mandatory Social Security Sector (0.90 percentage point) . Meanwhile, the sectors that experienced the biggest decline were the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Sector (-0.61 percentage point).
A total of 139.42 thousand people (57.10%) work in informal activities, an increase of 0.40 percentage points compared to August 2020.
Compared to August 2020, the percentage of underemployed decreased by 0.09 percentage point, while the percentage of part-time workers increased by 5.42 percentage point.
There are 714.21 thousand people (20.35%) of the working age population affected by COVID-19 in Bali Province. Consists of unemployment due to COVID-19 (48.89 thousand people), Non-Work Force (BAK) due to COVID-19 (33.41 thousand people), temporarily not working due to COVID-19 (38.15 thousand people), and residents working who experienced a reduction in working hours due to COVID-19 (593.75 thousand people).
