Abstract

In September 2020 the City of Denpasar experienced deflation of -0.16 percent as indicated by a decrease in the Consumer Price Index (base year 2018 = 100) from 103.80 in August 2020 to 103.63 in September 2020. Meanwhile, the year deflation rate September 2020 recorded as deep as -0.02 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (September 2020 against September 2019 or YoY) was recorded as high as 0.80 percent.


Of the eleven expenditure groups, four expenditure groups recorded deflation, namely group I (food, beverages and tobacco) as deep as -1.00 percent; group II (clothing and footwear) with a depth of -0.55 percent; group VI (transportation) as deep as -0.49 percent; and group IX (education) as deep as -0.04 percent. Meanwhile, five expenditure groups recorded inflation, namely group IV (equipment, tools and routine household maintenance) as high as 1.49 percent; group V (health) as high as 0.45 percent; group X (food and beverage / restaurant provision) as high as 0.37 percent; group XI (personal care and other services) as high as 0.08 percent; and group III (housing, water, electricity, and household fuel) as high as 0.03 percent. Two groups of expenditure recorded that the index did not change or were stagnant, namely group VII (information, communication and financial services) and group VIII (recreation, sports and culture).


Commodities recorded as contributing to or contributing to deflation in September 2020 include chicken meat, air transport rates, wardrobes, tomatoes, rubber sandals for men, inter-city transportation rates, shallots, jengki fish, eggs, and gold. jewelry.


Of the 90 CPI cities, 56 cities experienced deflation and 34 cities experienced inflation. The deepest deflation was recorded in Timika (Papua) at -0.83 percent while the lowest deflation was recorded in Bukittinggi (West Sumatra), Jember (East Java), and Singkawang (West Kalimantan) as deep as -0.01 percent respectively. Meanwhile, the highest inflation was recorded in Gunung Sitoli (North Sumatra) as high as 1.00 percent, while the lowest inflation was recorded in Pekanbaru (Riau) and Pontianak (West Kalimantan) as high as 0.01 percent respectively. If sorted from the deepest deflation, Denpasar ranks 28th out of 56 cities experiencing deflation.
