Bali Economic Growth in 2019

Abstract

Bali's total economy in 2019 as measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) based on current prices (adhb) was recorded at Rp. 252.60 trillion, while GDP at constant prices (adhk) was recorded at Rp. 162.78 trillion. With a projected population of Bali in 2019 of 4.34 million people, the GRDP per capita at current prices will reach 58.24 million rupiah.


Bali's economy in 2019 recorded growth of 5.63 percent, slowing down compared to growth in 2018 which recorded a rate of 6.33 percent. The economic structure of Bali in terms of business fields in 2019 is still dominated by Category I (Provision of Accommodation and Food and Beverage) with a contribution of 23.26 percent. While in terms of expenditure, the largest contribution was recorded in the Household Consumption Expenditure Component (PK-RT), which amounted to 47.96 percent.


Bali's economy in the fourth quarter of 2019 (y-on-y) recorded a growth of 5.51 percent or slowed compared to the same period the previous year which recorded a growth of 7.59 percent. In terms of business, the highest growth was achieved by Category D (Electricity and Gas Procurement) which recorded a growth of 11.95 percent. Meanwhile, when viewed from the side of the main supporting expenditure of economic growth in the fourth quarter of 2019 namely the Government Consumption Expenditure Component (PK-P) recorded growth of 10.4 percent.


On a q-to-q basis or compared to the previous quarter, Bali's economy in the fourth quarter of 2019 recorded a growth of 0.77 percent. In terms of business, the highest growth was achieved by Category D (Electricity and Gas Procurement), which recorded a growth of 9.79 percent. Meanwhile in terms of expenditure, the highest growth was recorded in the Government Consumption Expenditure component (PK-P) of 28.49 percent.
