Singaraja City Consumer Price Index in December 2019

Abstract

In December 2019 Singaraja City recorded inflation as high as 0.27 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI 2012 = 100) of 145.73. The calendar year inflation rate was recorded at 2.42 percent, the same as the year-on-year inflation rate (December 2019 to December 2018 or YoY) as high as 2.42 percent.


Inflation (m to m) is indicated by an increase in the index in five expenditure groups, namely group II (processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco) as high as 0.65 percent; group I (food ingredients) as high as 0.58 percent; group IV (clothing) as high as 0.32 percent; group VII (transport, communication and financial services) as high as 0.14 percent; and group V (health) as high as 0.04 percent. While the groups that recorded a decrease in index or deflation were group VI (education, recreation, and sports) as deep as -0.37 percent; and group III (housing, water, electricity and fuel) as deep as -0.11 percent.


Commodities recorded contributing to or contributing to inflation in December 2019 include bananas, shallots, vegetable tomatoes, stones, clove cigarettes, white cigarettes, filter clove cigarettes, cucumbers, flour, cement, chicken eggs, and drinking glasses.


From 82 CPI cities, 72 cities experienced inflation and 10 cities experienced deflation. the highest inflation was recorded in Batam City (Riau Islands) as high as 1.28 percent while the lowest inflation was recorded in Watampone City (South Sulawesi) as high as 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the deepest deflation was recorded in Manado City (North Sulawesi) as deep as -1.88 percent while the shallow deflation was recorded in Singkawang City (West Kalimantan) and Bukittinggi City (West Sumatra) each as deep as -0.01 percent. If ranked from the highest inflation, then Singaraja ranks 54th out of 72 cities experiencing inflation.
