In January 2018 the city of Denpasar recorded inflation of 0.94 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI 2012 = 100) of 128.37. The calendar year inflation rate was also recorded at 0.94 percent and year-on-year inflation rate (YoY) was recorded at 2.85 percent.
Inflation is indicated by rising index in all expenditure groups, namely: foodstuffs by 3.06 percent; transport, communication and financial services group 1.25 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel by 0.31 percent; clothing by 0.15 percent; education, recreation and sports group by 0.11 percent; and health group by 0,02 percent.
The recorded commodities contributed to inflation in January 2018, among others: rice, cayenne pepper, red peppers, air transport fares, and cars. Commodities recorded decreased in price or withstood the inflation rate among others: salak, papaya, shampoo, jeans pants, and shirt collared.
