In February 2016 in Denpasar an inflation of 0.07 percent in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) amounted to 120.25. The cumulative inflation rate (from January to February, 2016) of 0.56 percent and a year-on-year inflation (February 2016 to February 2015) amounted to 3.49 percent.
Inflation occurs because of the increase in the price indicated by the rise in the index in five types of expenses, foodstuffs at 1.05 percent; clothing group of 1.08 percent; food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.58 per cent; health group 0.19 per cent; and education, recreation and sport 0.04 percent. Expenditure groups which contain inflation ie the housing, water, electricity, gas, and fuel as well as transport, communication, and financial services respectively deflation of 0.81 percent and 0.46 percent.
