Driving Transformation in Statistical Data Collection

Deputy Head of BPS-Statistics Indonesia, Sonny Harry Budiutomo Harmadi, and Deputy Chair of Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Lalu Hadrian Irfani, took part in Commission X’s working visit to Bali on September 16.

During the Focus Group Discussion (FGD), Sonny highlighted the significant challenges facing the implementation of the 2026 Economic Census. Therefore, statistical transformation is essential to continuously improve the quality of data collection and provision.

In support of these efforts, Lalu commended BPS for its hard work and continued to encourage the development of a register-based census by establishing a system that prioritizes verification and evidence rather than relying solely on self-reported information.
