January 18, 2018 | BPS Activities
Food security is a sensitive issue for a country. The government has recently been overwhelmed by the policy of rice imports that are big. To achieve food security, the government needs accurate data on the amount of food production. To that end, BPS will conduct a survey of Area Sampling Frame (KSA) which will use satellite imagery assistance in calculating the area of harvest.
KSA is the development of new methods in improving national food data that has been considered overestimate. In collaboration with the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT), the KSA method is expected to produce an objective, accurate, and timely data of rice harvest. This method also uses android-based applications by utilizing GPS so as to suppress moral hazard and error.
KSA is done nationally including in Bali which began in January 2018. Previously, KSA has been tested in Indramayu and Garut which is a rice-producing center. In practice, every officer will photograph the paddy field / gardens using android-based mobile phones that have installed the application program in it. The images are taken directly on the sample farm and the data will be sent to the BPS data center. The shadow is exactly like "hunting pokemon", one of the games that once rampant menggandrungi society today. Come, support KSA!
